Accounting Manager

Description:

AMS Pictures, www.amspictures.com, is a highly creative, turnkey production facility looking for an individual to lead the Accounting/Finance department.  The Accounting Manager works closely with division managers to create a manageable budget for current jobs. This position reports to the CEO. 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare analysis reports of information from the Accounting System (QuickBooks)
  • Detailed review of month-end Financials and related Financial Analysis.
  • Manage accounting functions and preparation of reports detailing financial results.
  • Creating an annual company budget and profit margins then monitoring these numbers on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc. and report results back to the management team on a monthly basis.
  • Update fixed assets register and posting to the general ledger including appreciation and depreciation values. 
  • Balance monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Journal entry management.
  • Monthly sales tax reporting.
  • Review month end accounts payable and accounts receivable schedules for reasonableness and agreeing balances to the general ledger.
  • Review profit and loss accounts for inaccuracies.
  • Determine any weaknesses and inefficiencies in the systems and control environments and detail those findings and any resultant recommendations in a report to the CEO.
  • Meet with division managers and determine controls around key processes and transaction flows.
  • Act as the primary point person for audits.
  • Help prepare quarterly presentations for the CEO.
  • Foster an environment of high-quality work, team collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Insurance Controls including Liability, Auto, Equipment Damage, Worker's Comp Injury Policies and Reporting as well as Certificate of Insurance Controls.
  • Work closely with outside CPA firm on as-needed basis.
  • May be responsible for the management and oversight of one Bookkeeper.

 Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA/CPA preferred
  • Sales tax filing and reporting 
  • Experience in the media production industry and huge plus!
  • At least 6 10 years of experience in accounting and finance 
  • Knowledge of corporate financial accounting

Computer Skills:

  • Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency, especially within Google Drive Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Quickbooks, and other PC based programs

This individual should have strong interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written skills; ability to work with the day to day functions of accounting but also work with the executive team on strategic visioning and goal setting for the company; strong computer skills with a proficiency in QuickBooks, Google Drive Suite and Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with Bill.com and Xytech is a plus
